Neringa is a popular summer resort visited by tourists worldwide. Many local families are involved in tourism business, therefore, children have possibilities to communicate in foreign languages and develop intercultural competences.

The school implements formal (primary, basic and secondary) and non-formal education programs. Teaching language - Lithuanian. Foreign languages: English, German, Russian and French. Due to a well-developed IT network, innovative education process is being implemented. It is also an educational and cultural centre for the whole town community. Being distinguished from the mainland of Lithuania, school community lacks of possibilities to be active participants in educational and professional development, therefore, seeking for ways to build different collaborations, partnerships that would enable to ensure efficient innovative, modern educational process.

However, having a wide range of possibilities to provide students’ needs, it does not always result in their high motivation, good academic results, active participation in social life. Most of them lack of self-esteem and confidence, therefore, teachers are looking for different ways to make their classes more engaging to foster creativity, personal development. One of the goals is develop professional and personal competences of the school administration and teachers, to create a life-long learning environment, so that the school becomes the main centre of education, self-education for the community. As a result, the key target group – students would become more aware of the need to develop their personal skills, achieve better academic results and become social active persons.

Also, intercultural experience would help learners orient to their future goals, career development, foster their European citizenship. Teachers would share their good practises in order to build a strong and professional European network among educational organisations. English teachers are experienced in implementing international projects and deal with all the school students that would ensure an efficient organisation and implementation of the project activities. An experienced in projects an IT expert teacher would contribute in the field of technological aspects. He is also a deputy ambassador in Lithuania of Scientix and hosts workshops on ICT. Expert teacher of Music and senior teacher of Technologies would help students to organise artistic activities. School administration would ensure the integration of project activities in the curricular so it could address a larger audience of learners and teachers; contribute to dissemination of the project.

Primary School Goce Delcev - Kavadarci

The Primary/Lower Secondary School Goce Delcev is a Public School in the Municipality of Kavadarci. It is one of the biggest schools in our Municipality. Every year, about 600 pupils are enrolled into the school. Pupils start school at the age of six and continue until the age of fourteen.

There are about sixty teachers employed in the school and they do their best to educate young generations in the best way. The school aims to promote best teaching techniques and follow the new educational process, all with one aim-to make the teaching and lessons more interesting for the pupils, so that they achieve best possible educational results and become active citizens, ready to follow modern European streams. There is a computer for every pupil in the school, so that children can use all benefits that the new ICT technology offers. We pay special attention to multilingualism, so children in our school start learning English at the age of six. Learning English is obligatory and German and Italian are second languages. Children start learning a second language at the age of 11. We also take care of the environment.

Every year we have "Plant a tree day" in the school. Children bring plants, trees or flowers and we all plant them in the school in order to raise awareness of the children of how important it is to do something for a better planet. We also have "A day devoted to doing Ecological actions" when we collect garbage and show presentations about ecological issues.

The Government awarded our school with Green Flag for our special contribution for a clean environment. We also started a project called "Parents in a role of a teacher" where every month, parents take part in different activities organized by the school and contribute to improvement of the school curriculum. There is also "A day in nature with the teachers and parents" when they all go hiking in nature in order to get to know each other better.. We integrate children with special needs to the normal classes. They also additionally work with the teacher specialized in working with children with dyslexia, autism and other mental disorders. Many of the children that study in our school come from families with a very low income and many of them lack motivation to learn. Most of the pupils as well as the teachers have never been abroad and that is why we think it will be a great opportunity if we, as a school, take part in Erasmus plus programs in order to overstep our borders and give an improved, European dimension to the educational process.
